If I have Minecraft loaded on my desktop do I have to re-purchase for my laptop?

Please forgive my ignorance! I am the mom of an addicted Minecraft player! We have the game loaded on our desktop, but he is receiving a laptop for Christmas and I need to know if I need to purchase the game again to be loaded on the laptop or if I can somehow transfer it over. If I can transfer, will all of his game history go along with it? Thank you .

no you do not have to re-download it. just go to minecraft.net and under the "BUY NOW" button there is something that says download. click that and download the Minecraft.exe file and then you are good to go. just have him sign in with his user-name and password and all of his saved data will still be there.

Actually no you just have to download it on your laptop and login when you start it. If you have a level you want off your desktop go to your .minecraft folder (C:/Users/youruser/appdata/roaming) and then click saves and drag the folder of the level you want to a flash drive or any other external drive. Then plug it in to your laptop and put the folder in the same location on your laptop as your desktop. Hope This Helped!

Nope. Just re download the launcher from the site onto the laptop, then go and copy the .minecraft folder (appdata folder) over the one on the laptop.
