How come when i downloaded minecraft it only gave me the game but not a folder in my computer?

In other words i downloaded the game but i have looked through my whole computer and i cant find anything about minecraft... no folders or anything. i want to play survival island but since i have no folder to put the map in i cant play it so can someone tell me what to do.

search your computer for the .minecraft folder. the easy thing to do is to open minecraft go to the texture maps part of it and click to open the texturepack folder. then go up one level on the file viewer and you should see the saves folder.

First run the game and start a new world. Then enable your hidden files and folders. You then go to Users -> Your Username -> %AppData% -> .minecraft -> Saves Place the map here and you are good to go.

Go to Run... Type in %appdata% Go to .minecraft Open saves Paste your map. Play it.

Have you run minecraft yet? it will usaly make folders after you open it if not try got to support on minecraft website
