How to play Minecraft on far or normal render distance?

I want to play Minecraft on far render distance but right now my computer can only handle short. When i Put it on normal, it lags a little and with far it lags alot and occasionally crashes. I have a HP Pavilion G6 Laptop with i3 intel core. Would i need to play on a more powerful computer for this or if i can then what do i need to do?

sorry, but your stuck playing on a more powerful computer, minecraft is very cpu intensive, and your mobile i3 just isn't up to it. what you can do however, is look for optimization mods, as they can boost your framerate a little bit.
