How do you get more blocks on Minecraft?

Well, I got minecraft yesterday and when i look in my bricks, all i have is nothing.

Im trying to build something from a tutorial, But i dont got these bricks/Items

Redstone Torch
Redstone
Ice
Stone
Wooden pressure plates
And a dispencer.

How do i get those items, And along with more bricks?

Checkout minecraft wiki. It provides formulas to create all items in the world of Minecraft. To obtain blocks for things like Redstone torches you need to dig and mine for them. Wood is obviously from trees which transfer to wood planks if crafted. I hope this helped ^_^ Minecraft wiki!!!!!!

You can get all of those things from mining, except for ice. Ice, I believe, you can only get that from modding or in a snowy biome.
