I just transferred my Minecraft world onto a different computer. I see it in the Saves folder, but when I open up Minecraft, it's not there. How do I make my world appear on Minecraft?
Ansver:
When transferring worlds across from one computer to another, you must take into account what you're transferring, and where it is going to. When you locate the level in the folder "C:\\user\[username]\appdata\roaming\.mi… copy the entire level folder. This should be named what you called it within Minecraft. Then paste it into the same location on your other computer. If it doesn't appear, you have either missed out a stage, or the level has become corrupt. Additionally, make sure any installed mods are transferred as well as this may lead to some levels either becoming corrupt or not appearing.

Hmm...I've been playing around and whatever I do it works for me. the world should be here:
C:\ Users\ *YOUR USERNAME*\ AppData\ Roaming\ .minecraft\ saves\ *YOUR WORLD NAME FOLDER*
if you've only been copying the level.dat then that's not enough I'm afraid- you have to copy over your world folder (inside is 'data' 'region' 'level.dat' 'level.dat_old' and 'session.lock')
Hope that helps!

Are you sure it's in the right location? Try backing up your Saves folder (And any other folders you may want to back up, such as the achievements folder), deleting the Minecraft folder, and logging in with a premium Minecraft account.

Get a usb or a transferable device and copy this folder %appdata% --> .minecraft. Instal minecraft on the other computer and replace the files.
