How do I make Minecraft run faster?

Posted on 00:49 by Unknown
I use a Thinkware laptop and it lags like no other, it's unbearable, way too much lag to even move carefully so I can't even play on Peaceful! Is there any way I can make my computer run Minecraft better? I mean, it runs games like Civilization IV and Oblivion with practically no lag, so I have no idea what's going on. Please help!

Maybe you could try this 1. Go to Control Panel 2. Find the JAVA icon, and click on it 3. Java Control Panel will open and you'll find 5 or more tabs, select Java tab 4.- Push the "View..." button for Configure Java Runtime Environment. 5 .- Here is the trick, java uses only 256 mb of memory for his own purposes, and Minecraft needs more than that. See how much ram you have and increase java's memory usage as this: Guru's says that you can let java use the third of your total installed memory, for me its easy as I only have 3gb of installed ram on my computer, so i'm gonna let java deal with 1024 mb of ram (1 Gig) how? add this command in your Runtime Parameters on each entry that you have in this list. -Xmx1024m as shown above no spaces with the minus symbol at the beginning and an "m" at the end. in the above example, 1024 is the amount of memory that java will use, you can try 512 for small machines or 2048 for big ones.

You will still have to pay for it because you are not going to be connecting your premium account to minecraft. Though they might give a special code out. I don't really know. It's Majang for crying out loud. They can do anything.

When playing Minecraft through the browser, will it slow down my laptop?

Posted on 00:46 by Unknown
I have a new laptop meant for school and my parents said not to download games...But If i play Minecraft through the browser will it slow down my computer?

Answers:

Even if you play minecraft on your browser it downloads data to your computer. So yes, it does.

Resolved Question Show me another » ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Best Answer - Chosen by Voters Even if you play minecraft on your browser it downloads data to your computer. So yes, it does. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Most definitely, it will slow down no matter what computer you have whether its a lot or not to much, but only while its on. It really depends how good of a computer you have. If you have a good one then it will slow down but not a lot at all, if its quite old you probably wont be able to do much while its on. If the game is slow at all, then you better go to the menu while playing (by pressing Esc on your keyboard) and turning some of the settings down. To do this, you first click on 'Video Settings' then there will be an option that says Graphics Fancy, click it and it will change to Graphics Fast. If its already Graphics Fast then leave it. There will also be Smooth Lighting, make sure that's turned off and lastly Render Distance which you can turn down to 'Tiny' don't have it on 'Normal' or 'Fancy'. If you want to not have to do this then you can either: 1) Get a memory/ram upgrade (ask someone about that) 2) Buy a faster computer 3) Make sure that you close all other programs except minecraft If you want to be technical, then you need to upgrade your RAM/Memory to at least 4gb to do other things whilst minecraft is running. RAM/Memory controls how much you can do at the same time. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Laptops are crap for gaming. I suggest going into your options & setting distance to normal or near & switching graphics from fancy to fast. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- i can't help you.

How do I convince my parents to get minecraft?

Posted on 02:41 by Unknown
My parents are being jerks and not letting me get minecraft though I have the money and they say "why don't you get the full game" and I say "It cost a whole lot more than the price it is already is and it comes in November" and they still won't listen they think that since it's from a foreign place minecraft will scan them when over 2 million bought the game and my mom got her debit card data stolen once by someone foreign so she is still skeptical about that so could anyone help please?

You can say this one best games. Minecraft is a polarizing game in that respect and I can see why some people wouldn’t like it. For everyone else, this is more than worth checking out. There aren’t any fancy visuals or top-tier sound design or even amazing competitive multiplayer (although there is multiplayer in the game, though I haven’t tested it) to hook gamers and draw them in. What Minecraft does have are simplistic, easy to pick up and play game mechanics that are hard to put down once you’ve gotten started.

How To Get Minecraft Survival Island Multiplayer on an iMac for Free?

Posted on 02:49 by Unknown
I just want to be able to play Minecraft Survival Island with my friend, from two different computers obviously. We both have macs, so is there any way to get the game free. I don't care if we get the full Minecraft game, or just survival island, as long as we can download survival island for free, and play it mulitplayer over the internet. HOW DO I DO SUCH A THING?!??!?

If you want to try to get a legit copy, try using a survey site like prizerebel. Basically, what happens is that you complete surveys and after getting enough points, you can redeem prizes, etc. But watch where you signup, as MANY survey sites are fake. I've used prizerebel for the past few years and never had a problem, so if you wanna try that I'll leave the signup link at the bottom. www.tinyurl.com/prizerebelregister

You pirate the game. I'm not sure if multiplayer works on pirated clients, though.

What's the difference between the Minecraft you can play for free and the one you have to buy?

Posted on 02:44 by Unknown
I play Minecraft a lot at minecraftforfree.com and I noticed you can also BUY Minecraft. So what's the difference between the game on minecraftforfree.com and the Minecraft you pay 26 dollars for? Send any questions to marcyoukers1@yahoo.com ... Thanks

Answers:

You don't HAVE to buy it. You can go to mineshafter.appspot.com/ download a free version of minecraft and you can play it just like the real one with a few complications like the fact that it'll be a pain to create a server. Otherwise, the free alternative at this website will give you a free version of the real minecraft. Download the first one that says Mineshafter Client Proxy in Downloads.

In the paid version you get all updates, but the free version has no update and is only available only as an in-browser game. Also there are a survival mode and many mods in the paid version. The paid version is really an awesome, amazing, Craftastic game that you should definitely look into. Check more information about it here!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

In the free version, the terrain generation isnt updated. Also, there are features like mobs that you fight and different features like sprinting, food bar, health system and many other things. You can also find naturally generated towns and underground abandoned mines or fortresses.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

You can play online with the one you buy.

Is the game Minecraft still in Beta stage or is it a finished product?

Posted on 02:40 by Unknown
Hey
I just looked into purchasing minecraft from their website but it said the game is only 14.99 whilst in beta stage but a full 20,00 euros when it is finished, does this mean that Minecraft is still in its testing area and if it is when will it be completed? Just out of interest.

Minecraft is currently at version 1.6.6 and just recently at E3 Notch announced that it will most likely release AFTER 11/11/11 due to trouble getting a venue. Buying it now gives you the game in the development stage, and yes you do get the full version when it comes out. However, the game will be continually updated and a "release date" is mostly just for marketing purposes, as Notch has admitted. ;)

you can actually get it for free on many websites, I got mine on thepiratebay.se so really no need to buy it, but if you want to its around $28 now.

What is the longest Amount of time you have spent on a minecraft world.?

Posted on 02:39 by Unknown
I love and hate the minecraft updates. I love them because all the new features are so awesome, but I hate them in a way, because every time some major update occurs, To experience it I have to start a new world. I play Xbox. So my question is... What is the longest time you have spent on a minecraft world?

Answers:

PC for MC. MC is built for a Windows EXE file, so it would be natural to select the computer it was built for.

Well, I started a MineCraft world about three years ago and I'm still playing it (I mean, not nearly as often as I was, but you know, I still get on and build from time to time). In the time since I've started:

-I've built an elaborate mountain base stretching across three different peaks a good distance apart, with farms for animals, mobs (for their items), wheat, pumpkins, melons, etc. I have mines stretching for several kilometers (by MC standards) in all directions, most of which go completely to bedrock, complete with minecarts and the like

-I have a castle hub thingy built right in the middle of the base, a canal system designed to get me places quickly above ground, and a subway system with minecarts underground. Elevators take me up and down, as well.

- I built a cart path that led directly to a stronghold, which I raided, cleared of mobs, and established a base to go to the End at. My Nether Portal was lucky enough to spit me out close to a Nether Stronghold, so I have a Nether Base.

All of this spawned from me building a small hovel in the side of a mountain, and then a standard brick house after that. Once I built my Mob farm, I took all that cobblestone and built my castle. I found a lava lake underground and used the lava inside to farm cobblestone (with some help from automatic pistons), and once that was over, I built a whole bunch of these cobble farms with pistons and my 8-block-high walls were raised.in moments. Then I just sort of started adding some cool things to my base as I saw fit.

I have spent about 7 hours and 20 somthing minutes playing Minecraft straight, including restroom breaks, food, "eye" breaks and stretches. I have been playing on the same world since early beta but the longest world I have was right before 1.0. The second logest amount of time I have ever played straight was 1 hour and 47 minutes or so.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

I suggest a PC for minecraft, them compatibility issues goes down the drain. except mods. oh and about 50 - 60 hours.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Without getting bored out of my "mine" (pun) and getting into loud laughter over how bad the graphics are? About....... 26 seconds.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

One time I played from 6 at night till 3 in the morning. :/

How can I find bones on minecraft?

Posted on 02:37 by Unknown
So I've wanted to own a pet wolf on minecraft. I built a little house just near where a whole group of them go in the evening (nearly night) and they look so cute! I accidently attacked one once and it didn't like it. So I want to befriend it. I know you need to find bones to tame them but I only play on the peaceful mode because I'm more into building cool buildings rather than fighting monsters. What's the easiest mode, other than peaceful, to play on in order to get bones?

Answers:

The only way to get bones in Minecraft is to kill a skeleton (they will appear on easy or higher). I have an easy tactic that you can use if you don't want to fight one:
1) Make a bed (three wool in a horizontal line then three wood underneath each wool
2) Wait until nighttime and then in a safe place, place the bed and turn the setting to easy
3) Wait a short while so skeletons can spawn
4) After awhile sleep
5) Once you wake up it should be day, wait a bit and all skeletons and zombies exposed to direct sunlight will burn. Wait a bit longer for them to die
6) Change the setting to peaceful, leave your safe place and collect the loot

I hope this helps
Kind regards,
Craselin

PS: Also when you get the wolf to be tame RIGHT click on it to make it follow you or RIGHT click it again to make it sit and stay. Also to give the wolf the bone, RIGHT click it while holding the bone.
(If you left click it will attack it and you may be in danger after that :S

I usually play on peaceful, but when I want to get bones, I put all my value stuff in a chest, craft a sword and kill as many skeletons I can at night, if I'm low on health, I'll turn back to peaceful, and if I meet a creeper I turn on peaceful, hope my methods will help you.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Just turn Easy mode on a night, and try to find a skeleton, and slay it. The second that it's dead, switch back to peaceful, and all monsters will disappear. If a creeper is next to you too, pause and switch to peaceful.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

The way you can get bones on minecraft is to kill a skeleton zombie and it should drop them

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

you have to kill a skeleton creeper zombie or other hostiles mobs and dogs can take more than 1 bone to tame a good trap to kill them with was made by drunkoncustard (its on youtube)

In the time since I've started: -I've built an elaborate mountain base stretching across three different peaks a good distance apart, with farms for animals, mobs (for their items), wheat, pumpkins, melons, etc. I have mines stretching for several kilometers (by MC standards) in all directions, most of which go completely to bedrock, complete with minecarts and the like -I have a castle hub thingy built right in the middle of the base, a canal system designed to get me places quickly above ground, and a subway system with minecarts underground.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

I have spent about 7 hours and 20 somthing minutes playing Minecraft straight, including restroom breaks, food, "eye" breaks and stretches. I have been playing on the same world since early beta but the longest world I have was right before 1.0. The second logest amount of time I have ever played straight was 1 hour and 47 minutes or so.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

I suggest a PC for minecraft, them compatibility issues goes down the drain. except mods. oh and about 50 - 60 hours.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Without getting bored out of my "mine" (pun) and getting into loud laughter over how bad the graphics are? About....... 26 seconds.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

One time I played from 6 at night till 3 in the morning. :/

How do you switch blocks in minecraft?

Posted on 02:35 by Unknown
I just started to play minecraft today and I have no clue how to pick my blocks. Like have a pick ax and a torch on my bottom thing and it wont let me move so I can get it. Does anyone know how to get it?

Answers:

Yeah it's very simple. I had trouble with everything when I first started playing Minecraft.

There are several ways you can change what you are holding in your hand.

1) Press E to look in your Inventory and Use Your Mouse to Click on the Item and Move it to the Highlighted Slot at the bottom row. (This is the item you are currently holding.)

2) Press a Number on your Keyboard (1-9) that corresponds with the 9 slots in the Bottom Row.

3) Scroll using your mouse to switch between the 9 slots in your Inventory.

:]

If you have ANY other Minecraft questions feel free to shoot me a message.

If you go to Minecraft.net and register then you can try out a free demo before buying the game (which I recommend) and if you decide you like it then head over to the shop tab of the website and see that it costs 26$ USD

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

you can actually get it for free on many websites, I got mine on thepiratebay.se so really no need to buy it, but if you want to its around $28 now.

What is the best computer to play runescape and minecraft?

Posted on 02:34 by Unknown
I'm looking to buy a computer for my bday either a laptop or a desktop I'm looking for one that runs runescape and minecraft good so theirs little to no lag my budget is 600

Answers:

Runescape and Minecraft both run on Java. That means that with virtually any computer, you'll be able to run it. If it lags, it's probably not your computer's fault, it's probably Java's language that lags you up. For example, I have 8 gigs of ram, quad core 8 processor with 2.6 ghz and intel i7, ati radeon with 2 gigs graphics card, but Minecraft still lags sometimes.

So, to answer your question, I suggest you buy any computer with lots of RAM, because Minecraft heavily depends on RAM to make your computer run smoothly. Just go to Best Buy and ask them for a 600 dollar computer with at LEAST 2 gigs of RAM.

REMEMBER. You NEED at least 2GB of RAM to run these two games smoothly. If you're really low on money, you can opt for 1GB of RAM.

Here is a decent computer that will run both of those. If you want to play RuneScape in HD with all the settings cranked up, consider upgrading the video card with that (It's under your budget, so it shouldn't be a problem). http://www.shopping.hp.com/webapp/shopping/computer_can_series.do?storeName=computer_store&category=desktops&a1=Category&v1=Everyday+computing&series_name=p6750z_series&jumpid=in_R329_prodexp/hhoslp/psg/desktops/Everyday_computing/p6750z_series

Try this one out. My friend and I make minecraft video s on this pc, it will also give you the ability to play recent games as well such as call of duty black ops, crysis 2, and great perfomance and quiet factor for 600$ http://www.cyberpowerpc.com/system/Back_… If you have any other minecraft questions protaining to minecraft contact our youtube channel @ Youtube.com/legitcraft

Is Minecraft Pocket Edition as good as the other versions?

Posted on 02:34 by Unknown
At first I didn't want anything to do with Minecraft, but after seeing some gameplay and seeing a better aspect of what the games all about. I kinda want it a little now, but I don't have an XBOX and my computer is so shi*ty that I cant play any games and barely watch anything. But I have an IPhone so is it as good as the others but smaller, like can you basically do everything that you can do in the other versions?

Answers:

Minecraft Pocket Edition isn't as good as other versions. This just give you do some basic activity and there some thing you can't do also. But it also fun.

Best Answer - Chosen by Voters Minecraft Pocket Edition isn't as good as other versions. This just give you do some basic activity and there some thing you can't do also. But it also fun.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Gameplay: Not as good as PC Controls: Bad (no offense Mojang) Time-wasting skills: Excellent Creative is much more fun that survival, and servers are a crapton easier to make. If you have a few friends, Survival Games is a good idea, just make a new map everyday, let everyone gather materials and then just start killing each other. Due to the limits on map generation (yes, i think the map is like 512 by 512 by 128 blocks (length x width x height) its also excellent for Survival Games If you are a Minecraft player but you have more time alone with your phone than your PC, its plenty worth the money. Best part, if you let your friends download minecraft also from your app store account, you are practically getting 5 MC players for 1/4 the price of the PC version for 1 player.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Minecraft pocket version isn't as good as the other versions, but its still fun. Since its on an Phone rather than a computer, the controls are a little harder to use since you don't have an entire keyboard. Also, if you get the free version, you are only allowed to access a few blocks and creative mode. However, if will give you the basic gist of minecraft and is still fun, so if you're interested, I hope that you try it and I hope this helps! :D

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

If you don't have Minecraft on a PC or an Xbox, then this should give a basic idea on what Minecraft is. There are also PE-Exclusive Nether Reactors, which are nice. But this is basically just a portable version of Minecraft, and the PC or Xbox versions have quite a lot more content. You can still craft, use furnaces and build, but there's a lot less content than the other versions. So: Yeah.PE is good.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

It's not as good as the other versions because it's still kind of new, but Minecraft is a game that is constantly worked on and updated, Minecraft PE gives you a basic idea of the game though, they are planning on making it as close to the PC version as they can in the new updates.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

It's not as good as the PC and Xbox versions, but it's not bad either. Minecraft isn't exactly the best looking game out there, so if I were you, I'd try to find a demo of the PC version to see if it works.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

It's not as good in anyway but it gives you a basic concept of minecraft and what you can do.

Can a Radeon HD 6320 graphic run 32x32 texture packs for minecraft?

Posted on 02:33 by Unknown
Im going to get a computer with this graphics card and i wanted to play minecraft in it i whant to download some 32x32 textures but will this card handle it?........ Or does running textures have anything to do with the graphic card?

Answers:

Minecraft is very processor intensive. While the graphics card does play an important role, make sure you're not getting a weak processor. A Radeon 6320 is not a very good card, as you can see from ratings and tests here: http://www.notebookcheck.net/AMD-Radeon-…
EDIT: Scroll down on that page, and you'll see popular game benchmarks. Unfortunately, Minecraft is not listed. Minecraft is really not a real test for a video card since all the game is is one large Java executable.

However, it should run Minecraft well.

If you want a laptop to play more intensive games like Skryim, Diablo 3, find one with a "dedicated video card". I would recommend any of the laptops with a GTX 600 series card. "Integrated video cards" are not meant for gaming.

If you overclock your computer cpu it might smooth things out a bit. Yes to the second part running textures does have something to do with graphics. The 6320 does have some streaming processors onboard for that. The more streaming processors( nvidia has cuda cores but more like streaming processors for the new 6 series). the better the program can resolve textures.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Your graphics card seems more than adequate to run minecraft, but most of the performance loss comes from not having enough processing power or ram. You might have to do some tweaks to get minecraft to take advantage of all your ram or enable the use of more than one core of you processor (if your processor has multi threading) but you should be fine running any texture packs you want.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Textures have everything to do with the graphics card. This card should be good. for simple games like minecraft.

Choosing and building a very good Minecraft tekkit server might be equally complicated as managing to get the client working. I would recommend going to a consistent Minecraft tekkit server for example the one I mentioned below. They're content to support brand new individuals and may answer any queries it's likely you have.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

You can get the premium account if you buy a copy of the game. Some websites are offering free legal copy of minecraft (xbox). I checked the net to find the site that offers free minecraft. The site has been listed in the source.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

You can't. Just simply buy another account.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

No. What you are suggesting is highly illegal and therefore it should be avoided.

What computer would run Minecraft with no lag?

Is there a site where you can download Minecraft Creative Mode for free legally?

Posted on 02:28 by Unknown
I have an account on Minecraft, but it is not premium.I like creative mode. Is there a site where I can download the full version of Minecraft for free legally?

Answers:

Sort of...
On minecraft.net there are two versions: Full and Alpha, also commonly known as "Creative". The Alpha is free, so yes you can play "Creative" for free. The Alpha version, however, has no mobs, less blocks, has a limited map size, and lacks many other features normal minecraft has. Alpha is just 100% pure building, so if thats what you're looking for, that is for you. You can even play multiplayer.

About downloading it... I don't know if thats possible. You can try a browser add-on to download the .jar, but I don't know if it will work properly. But you can still play it on your browser.

Turn down the graphics to Fast and to Tiny or Small rendering. If that doesn't work, you may wanna look at things like more RAM, better processor, new computer, etc. Some machines don't run games well, especially older ones.

You could try downloading an alternate launcher. I used this one and it worked great for me. Download here: http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?6d…

It will stay the same. Randomly generated just means that every new save you have will be a new level seed. (using f3 you can see what seed it is) .and that seed will randomly generate everything but once it is all generated it doesnt change unless you change it specifically...

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Everywhere you have been, stays the same. LIke if you wanted a mod that added villages, then they wouldn't spawn in the places you have been before because they have already been generated.

Depends if you want a 24/7 with great connection, or just one you guys set up by yourself from time to time with horrible-great depending on your computer and internet connection.

To set up your own go to:
http://www.minecraft.net/download.jsp
and download:
Minecraft_Server.exe
minecraft_server.jar
and follow the instructions given.

To have a hosted one with great connection go to:
http://www.minecraftforum.net/viewforum.…
Then find one you want and pay about 4$ a month for a recommended 4player server.

To upload a map to a hosted server you have to create a folder for it then upload all the files one by one (depending on your hoster) at least that's how I do it =P.

If you host it of your cpu, then just put the file in your minecraft server folder. (MAKE A FOLDER ON YOUR DESKTOP)

Then change the properties file to world-"name"

Get teamspeak to talk, or just text in minecraft.

How to get into different biomes in minecraft xbox edition?

well sadly the xbox version is the pc equivalent of 1.6.6 so there are no jungle biomes yet.....but your seed is based on the date and time so there is probably a value like the 7 in 7 oclock that controls the biome value so give a custom seed a try....just put in whatever you want.... How do I make minecraft run faster?

I've changed the render distance, fps settings etc. I have a pretty good laptop (it can run call of duty no problem) but when it comes to minecraft it lags pretty bad. Can someone help me?

Best Answer - Chosen by Voters Minecraft wont run so dont get your hopes.....

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

We're the same, But i can run minecraft more faster with this simple technique. Open minecraft, Open your save file, press ESCAPE, click options, then turn off Bobbing, Change render distance to Tiny, Change the Fancy to Fast, Turn off music and sound, If it stills lagging, Open a new world name your world and go to more world options change Default to superflat Note: This world has no resources so you cannot play survival anymore, Just use the toomanyitems mod and you can switch your mode to creative or normal... Hope i helped you =)

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

try to change the render distance to tiny and power saving instead of max fps and put the particles to minimal and if that doesn't work you may have installed it wrong or you can try to re install

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

set power usage to "high peformance" or dedicate more RAM to it

Can I transfer my minecraft world from one account to another?

Posted on 02:21 by Unknown
I'm using my friends minecraft account, but I want to get my own so we can play together and so on. But I've spend hours building my world (which was kinda stupid in retrospect). So is there a way I can transfer this old world to my new new account?
Answers:
You can go into you run and type in %appdata% then find the .minecraft folder and then find the saves file in side of it find the world you want and just copy it. Then you can put it in an email or on a flash drive. Then all you have to do take that file go through all the steps again on the other computer and paste it in the saves file :)

run>%appdata%>.minecraft>saves>copy the world

If it's a PC then use the search on the Start menu and type in %appdata%. then "Roaming", then ".minecraft". After that double click on "saves" and look for your world. Then drag it onto a thumb drive and transfer it to another computer. P.S. If you are logged into his account on your computer and that's where you have your saves then you have nothing to worry about. The saves save you the computer, not the account. So I can log on as someone from say 3,000 miles away from me and still have my worlds that I used on my computer. Hope this helps!
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
The worlds are not attached to your account, they save to your computer so to transfer worlds put it on a memory stick (they are found in your .minecraft folder ) To get here go onto the start menu and type : C:\Users\YOURUSERNAMEHERE\AppData\Roamin… copy and paste that
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
world arnt specific to accounts... if you have the world file you can play on it with any account

How can you speed up minecraft without having to tamper with the computer?

Posted on 02:20 by Unknown
I recently downloaded minecraft on a school laptop, so im not allowed to physically tamper with the computer.

Answers:

x3 I've got Minecraft on a school laptop too. Mine was super laggy when I started playing, but I found that going to Options, then clicking Video Settings, and making the Render distance either short or tiny helps a lot. I also turned clouds off, and turned the brightness down a bit.
I hope your game runs smoothly now :3

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Just turn down your minecraft specs, render to short or tiny, fast instead of fancy, I found that it will usually give me around 20 fps more. If permissible, open task manager, click processes and on java.exe, right click and press on priority. Set this on real time or high if real time is not allowed, hope that this works for you.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

For starters you can simply turn down the render distance in the options menu. This will reduce how far you can see into the distance but greatly increase performance and reduce lag. Similarly, in the options menu there are all sorts of video settings you can tweak such as lighting. If you don't really care for super-dooper awesome graphics right now lower the lighting and resolution. Hope that helped.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Download the mod "Optifine". It is very easy to do and, after I did it, I can play minecraft on my netbook which only has 1gb of ram and no real graphics card.

If I have Minecraft loaded on my desktop do I have to re-purchase for my laptop?

Posted on 02:20 by Unknown
Please forgive my ignorance! I am the mom of an addicted Minecraft player! We have the game loaded on our desktop, but he is receiving a laptop for Christmas and I need to know if I need to purchase the game again to be loaded on the laptop or if I can somehow transfer it over. If I can transfer, will all of his game history go along with it? Thank you .

Answers:

no you do not have to re-download it. just go to minecraft.net and under the "BUY NOW" button there is something that says download. click that and download the Minecraft.exe file and then you are good to go. just have him sign in with his user-name and password and all of his saved data will still be there.

Actually no you just have to download it on your laptop and login when you start it. If you have a level you want off your desktop go to your .minecraft folder (C:/Users/youruser/appdata/roaming) and then click saves and drag the folder of the level you want to a flash drive or any other external drive. Then plug it in to your laptop and put the folder in the same location on your laptop as your desktop. Hope This Helped!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Nope. Just re download the launcher from the site onto the laptop, then go and copy the .minecraft folder (appdata folder) over the one on the laptop.

Try this http://www.mediafire.com/?61h9ct0a8fxzb91 its a minecraft cracked launcher download, download it then force update. You can update it and play offline and also play on cracked servers but not on premium ones.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Torrent it and if you like it buy it. Notch himself made a ballsy statement and told gamers to torrent Minecraft and buy it if they liked it, so do it!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

You Can Visit Softpedia Cyber CNE Software in this link www.cybercnesoftware.com and download your game here

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Download the launcher, click options then press force update. Now try to do it.

Any possible way to get a Minecraft account without buying a new game?

Posted on 02:19 by Unknown
My brother bought minecraft on the computer that we shared. He got a new computer a little later, and played minecraft on his computer. I started playing minecraft offline. I was playing without an account then I decided to make one. I created a majong account, but that wasn't a minecraft account, so I can't change skins, play online with other people or anything special, except play on the offline games. So, I was wondering if there was any possible way to get a minecraft account without having to buy a whole new game?

Minecraft, as in the game it's self is free. What you buy is access to the authentication server ie. a premium account.

you can log in to minecraft using your mojang account.

What are the benifits of getting the payed version of minecraft?

Posted on 02:18 by Unknown
Are there certain things you can only do with a paid minecraft account?

Answers:

Well, if you get the real minecraft, you can get many things.
1. Skins. You can apply skins on the minecraft website and look different to people.
2. Online servers. Many servers only allow legit players to enter. They have filters and whatnot. Somw private servers allow pirated minecraft, but there are barely any.
3. Support. You will support Notch for making such a great game! It takes a lot of money to make your own company, you know. He made the game in the beginning all by himself. It is great to support him. It also encourages updates.
4. Laugh at all the noobs who don't have legit minecraft. Call them cheap douches who don't know what a good game is like if it crawled up their butthole. Overall bragging rights.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Well not necessary. You can do almost anything with a cracked version. Play on private servers etc get mods for it. Although, with the paid version. You get all the updates as soon as they come out, with a cracked/pirate version you will get them alittle longer down the line. Also, you can play on many more servers. Just think, it's like playing a runescape private server. It's good but, not as good as it would be to play the real thing.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

I'm not sure. I tried to get a cracked version, but I ended up getting a virus. So, I bought it. In the crack version, I believe you only could play offline. Some servers only allow online modes, to prevent hackers, I think. So, I guess one of the features are playing private servers. But, I suggest you buying the full version, to support the game and the creators.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Multiplayer. You'll also be supporting an indie developer, which is a Good Thing™.

You can run it from your own computer, but setting it up can be quite frustruating and also uses a lot of bandwidth. Easy way is to rent it from a server rental, they will set it up for you and you can easily add bukkit and bukkit plugins or mods (like buildcraft) to it. Here is a link to a very good server host, that I use - http://www.multiplaygameservers.com/?r=L… Just choose minecraft and fill the order. I usually split the price between my friends who i play with.

Just look up Mine craft server in top of games I’m sure they have some.

How do I start a Minecraft server?

Posted on 02:13 by Unknown
I have been trying to start a Minecraft server for me and my friend, and so far I have been unsuccessful. What do I need to do to start the server easily.

Answers:

There is no.. 'Easily'.. In Creating a MC Server.

You need to Port forward for your Router, To allow incoming connections(Your Friend)
And Allow MC server past your firewall aswell as set up the server.

► Create A Proper Minecraft Server ◄ (Without CRAPPY Hamachi)

► Port Forwarding:

You Have to get the Make off the router & Model number then Google them..

Example: Netgear Wgr5643 minecraft port forwarding tutorial.

You need to figure out how to:

1) Gain access to the Router's Configuration By entering the Router IP..
Into Your Web Browser's Address Bar, Then you need to Login Using..
The Username & Password That should be on the Bottom of the Router.
-> http://compnetworking.about.com/od/wifih…

2) Locate Your Internal IP Address As thats the IP You Use To Port Forward.
-> http://www.oldpapers.info/2007/finding-i…

3) Port Forward To Ports:
Starting port: 25565
Ending port: 25565

4) Give the IP Found here to Anyone you want to Join -> http://www.whatsmyip.org/
( You Connect Using.. LocalHost - If on same Computer )

► Add Firewall Exceptions:

A Firewall exception is allowing an application past your Computer's Firewall.

There is a Built in Windows Firewall but alot of anti-viruses have their own.
Windows Firewall Tutorial -> http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/542…

If You dont use Windows Firewall You need to figure out how to add a exception..
For which ever Anti-Virus/Firewall you do have. Some Good ones below:
ESET -> http://kb.eset.com/esetkb/index?page=con…
Kaspersky -> http://support.kaspersky.com/kis2011/set…
Norton -> http://community.spiceworks.com/how_to/s…

You need to add Firewall Exceptions for These three application's.

1) Javaw.exe (Location: C:\Program Files (86)\Java\JRE6\bin)
2) Minecraft.exe (Game Executable - Location: Wherever you put it)
2) Minecraft_Server.exe (Server Executable - Location: Wherever you put it)

Hope it helps :)

An alternative (which I use) is to pay for a Minecraft Server Hosting Website to host the server for you. Most of them are cheap and allow almost any settings to be changed about the server. The Server Hosting Website I use is "X-Ray Hosting" and they are a little bit cheaper that some other hosting websites. I hope I have helped you with your question!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

@Chris... your information is somewhat complicated... it could just be simpler.... How i set up my minecraft server was Went to Bukket.org got the server client. port forwarded 25565/25565 UDP/TCP Got my IP address... and done...... 3 steps... I wouldn't do the firewall thing... thats just a waste of time..... unless you have some gay anti-virus like Norton..........
