What do you do on minecraft, how do you play, and is it appropriate for ages 10 and up?

Posted on 02:12 by Unknown
So I just wanted to see what you do on minecraft:

Is there levels?
Is it like roblox?
Is it fun?
What do you do on there?
How do you play?

Answers:

To answers you questions:
1. There are no levels. You play in a 'World' that is randomly generated. You can have multiple worlds (also known as 'saves') but it isn't like you have to complete this part before moving on.
2. It's similar to roblox in the way that you can build things, but the similarities kinda end there.
3. It's great fun
4. You can build, mine, fish, hunt, farm and a whole lot of things. Often, Minecraft is like the real world You're trying to survive. What you do, however, is up to you.
5. To play, you have to get minecraft. I recommend the PC version because it has a bigger community and has more in it. You have to make an account at minecraft.net and buy the game for that account. You can then play in your web browser or download the 'launcher' so you can play without an internet connection (after playing it at least once). In the actual game itself, you create a new world. The general idea is to surviv and the tutorials at http://www.minecraftwiki.net/wiki/Tutori… will help you to do that. Once you get used to the actual game and how everything works, you can do nearly everything you want.
The game itself is suitable for 10 and up.

In my sources, I've also included two videos that I believe should give you a good idea of what minecraft is.

You build stuff and mine, how you play depends on what devise you play it on (Xbox computer etc.) it is appropriate for ages ten and up but it has got some fighting in. There aren't levals in this game, It is a little bit like roblox but u are in 1st person, it is fun according to my brother but I have no interest in it. So that depends!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Its E10+ for violence but you can turn monsters off. Theres 2 modes. One you cut trrees. mine ores. make tools. gather food. build a house. fight zombies and skeletons and giant spiders -if you have difficulty on- and if you collect every thing you need. you can teleport to a barren place and fight a dragon. The other game mode you just have all and unlimited blocks and you can fly and build whatever you please. Its a highly rated game for all ages. Great game and you get free updates that add new monsters. blocks and items.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

well minecraft is a first person sandbox game theres no rules you build and i would say ummmm THE GAME IS SO EPIC the controls are w,s,a,d (movement) left click to brake blocks right to place and i guess its like roblox

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Minecraft is essentially trying to survive, building, mining. It is appropriate for really any age, unless you are easily creeped out by monsters!

What is the best program to run Minecraft on?

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

It honestly doesn't matter, as long as the computer is powerful enough to run the game on it, just cause you have windows 7 doesn't mean it will run the best, it just depends on the processor and the graphics card. If you don't have a good one, then your not going to get very far. It is also best to run minecraft on a desktop due to the fact desktops are powerful than laptops

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Good don't think of getting a mac for PC gaming, they just aren't powerful enough. But the software you run minecraft on doesn't matter, BUT I know that vista is the worst operating system released by microsoft (as I hear). Windows 7 Is probably the best operating system to choose for overall pc gaming, but I would definitely advise Windows XP because It's very "original" and it isn't made to fool you unlike Windows 7... So all in all I definitely advise Windows XP.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

You can install linux. (yes, it is like mac only free.) ALSO a computer has to have a alota RAM

How can I transfer the minecraft.jar file from one user account to another one the same computer?

Posted on 02:11 by Unknown
So, I finally got a mod to work, and I would like to use that same minecraft file, but play it on another account?

Answers:

well if it is in your system and you log into different minecraft accounts the mods will work with any you use. if you would like to play on a different user account i would recomend right clicking the .bin and moving or copying it to a san disk or any protable harddrive. but you may also move it to a shared location on your pc so others may go there copy or move it to the .jar destination folder which might be the same on any user account and just overwriting any that is there. but i think that the whole minecraft folder is shared within user accounts. to be certain just bac kit up to another location by copying it there.

p.s i keep folders in a play on my pc for different .jars so they are like my mod packs

i also gave up my %50 best answer for this

also matt i was looking at your profile and you have joined for 2 years but you only have asked 2 questions and not answered any. just interesting that's all
hmm that may have sounded sort of stalkerish and made me look like some sort of internet criminal. lol but really how can you go 2 years without one question!!! i wouldn't even remember my own password or username in 2 years i am suprised you did

and if you did mean world then just copy it somewhere else like above and put it into the place they belong. roaming > appdata> .minecraft> save

Email the file to yourself and access the email on your other user account and add the file to minecraft! Short and simple.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

the account is not a transfer file , if you want transfer your world you need to pass the file ''' Saved '' that it's on %appdata% in .minecraft .

How do I start a Minecraft server?

Posted on 02:09 by Unknown
I have been trying to start a Minecraft server for me and my friend, and so far I have been unsuccessful. What do I need to do to start the server easily.

Answers:

There is no.. 'Easily'.. In Creating a MC Server.

You need to Port forward for your Router, To allow incoming connections(Your Friend)
And Allow MC server past your firewall aswell as set up the server.

► Create A Proper Minecraft Server ◄ (Without CRAPPY Hamachi)

► Port Forwarding:

You Have to get the Make off the router & Model number then Google them..

Example: Netgear Wgr5643 minecraft port forwarding tutorial.

You need to figure out how to:

1) Gain access to the Router's Configuration By entering the Router IP..
Into Your Web Browser's Address Bar, Then you need to Login Using..
The Username & Password That should be on the Bottom of the Router.
-> http://compnetworking.about.com/od/wifih…

2) Locate Your Internal IP Address As thats the IP You Use To Port Forward.
-> http://www.oldpapers.info/2007/finding-i…

3) Port Forward To Ports:
Starting port: 25565
Ending port: 25565

4) Give the IP Found here to Anyone you want to Join -> http://www.whatsmyip.org/
( You Connect Using.. LocalHost - If on same Computer )

► Add Firewall Exceptions:

A Firewall exception is allowing an application past your Computer's Firewall.

There is a Built in Windows Firewall but alot of anti-viruses have their own.
Windows Firewall Tutorial -> http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/542…

If You dont use Windows Firewall You need to figure out how to add a exception..
For which ever Anti-Virus/Firewall you do have. Some Good ones below:
ESET -> http://kb.eset.com/esetkb/index?page=con…
Kaspersky -> http://support.kaspersky.com/kis2011/set…
Norton -> http://community.spiceworks.com/how_to/s…

You need to add Firewall Exceptions for These three application's.

1) Javaw.exe (Location: C:\Program Files (86)\Java\JRE6\bin)
2) Minecraft.exe (Game Executable - Location: Wherever you put it)
2) Minecraft_Server.exe (Server Executable - Location: Wherever you put it)

Hope it helps :)

An alternative (which I use) is to pay for a Minecraft Server Hosting Website to host the server for you. Most of them are cheap and allow almost any settings to be changed about the server. The Server Hosting Website I use is "X-Ray Hosting" and they are a little bit cheaper that some other hosting websites. I hope I have helped you with your question!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

@Chris... your information is somewhat complicated... it could just be simpler.... How i set up my minecraft server was Went to Bukket.org got the server client. port forwarded 25565/25565 UDP/TCP Got my IP address... and done...... 3 steps... I wouldn't do the firewall thing... thats just a waste of time..... unless you have some gay anti-virus like Norton..........

Posted on 02:09 by Unknown
Can anyone explain how I can or join a Minecraft server? Exact instructions please.

Does anyone have a server I can possible join to see if I can join one?

Answers:

It's quite easy to join one:

Type up in your browser: Minecraft servers, then click on the one that says:
Recently Updated Minecraft Servers - PlanetMinecraft.com.

There should be a list, just click on one and then copy the whatever is in the box saying 'Connect With'

Then go into Minecraft and click on multiplayer

Then paste the thing that you copied into direct connect or add server, then play

You can run it from your own computer, but setting it up can be quite frustruating and also uses a lot of bandwidth. Easy way is to rent it from a server rental, they will set it up for you and you can easily add bukkit and bukkit plugins or mods (like buildcraft) to it. Here is a link to a very good server host, that I use - http://www.multiplaygameservers.com/?r=L… Just choose minecraft and fill the order. I usually split the price between my friends who i play with.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

get hamache from softtonic and type in on google minecraft servers

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Just look up Mine craft server in top of games I’m sure they have some.

What do you do on minecraft, how do you play, and is it appropriate for ages 10 and up?

Posted on 02:07 by Unknown
